Windows installer

Download from groundbasecrm.com → Download .exe installer. The installer lets you pick the folder and installs for your user only (no admin rights needed), adds a Start menu and desktop shortcut, and opens the app when it finishes. From version 2.1.16 the installer is code-signed, with Groundbase as the publisher. Windows SmartScreen may still show a warning the first time; choose More info → Run anyway.

System requirements: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer bundles the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime — no separate install needed.

What the desktop app does that the web app doesn't

Same screens, same data. The extras:

• Dedicated window — one instance; launching it again brings the open window forward.
• Task reminders as Windows notifications — a toast ahead of a task's due time, and one summary on launch (Groundbase — tasks waiting). Turn them off or change the lead time in Settings → Preferences.
• Notifications for texts, emails and calls — a Windows notification for each new text and email, checked once a minute, and for an incoming call, whenever Groundbase isn't the window in front. Click one to open the right screen. Turn them off with Message notifications in Settings → Preferences.
• Tray icon — closing the window keeps Groundbase running in the system tray, so calls and texts still reach you; the tray icon reopens it, and Quit Groundbase in its menu really quits. Turn this off with Keep running in the tray in Settings → Preferences, and closing the window quits as before.
• PDF export — select contacts or companies and Export PDF, or Export to PDF on a deal, straight to a file.
• Background checks while open — the Texts screen refreshes every 30 seconds while the window is showing; new texts, emails and calls also raise notifications (above).
• Right-click menu — copy an email address or phone number, open a link in your browser.

Email works as it does on the web: from desktop 2.1.14, the app reads and sends mail through Groundbase's server instead of checking your mailbox itself, so it no longer needs a mailbox password of its own. Older versions synced mail themselves; a mailbox first connected on one of them may ask for its password once (see Email integration).

There is no auto-update: when a newer version exists, a banner says so with a Download update button that opens the website. Ctrl K opens the search box as on the web; the g shortcuts are web only (see Settings & customisation for what the desktop app has instead).

macOS / Linux

Not built yet. The Electron code is cross-platform so it's a packaging-only lift; we'll publish builds once there's user demand.
